What type of campervan do you have for hire?

We have a 2011 Volkswagen Transporter T5.1 with hydraulic pop-top roof with rock-and-roll bed which folds down into a comfortable bed.

What are you based?

We are based in Cardiff just off the A4232. We are within easy reach of the stunning Brecon Beacons national park and the beautiful Welsh mountains, Gower Peninsula and beyond. We maybe able to arrange hire from other areas of the country, please enquire.

Can we come to view the van before booking?

Of course, feel free to get in contact with us and we can arrange a suitable time when the van will be available to view.

Are there any charges I have to pay?

Our van comes fully equipped with all the necessities needed for your holiday. There are optional extras you may wish to add such as: Bed linen pack, driveaway awning, extra tables/chairs, and even kayaks or paddle-boards (Subject to availability)

What’s not included?

Fuel (Although vans are provided with a full tank – They must also be returned to us with a full tank), food and drink, bedding, pillows, and towels.

Can we travel outside the UK?

Yes, European countries.

What comes with the van?

The van comes with Cutlery, Utensils, Chopping board, Frying pan and pots, (Electric-Hook up use), Bottle opener, 6 Piece Dinner set, Glasses and cafetière. We provide a camping table/chairs, portable toilet – (For use with bags, supplied), and portable gas stove and canister of Camping gas. Kitchen cleaner/Washing up liquid/Tea Towel and brush/dustpan. Complimentary tea/coffee/milk and sugar.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

We require a £199 Security Deposit at time of booking along with rental charge and £750 insurance excess. You can pay the rental charge and insurance excess up to 4 weeks prior to departure. Your security deposit and insurance excess will be returned to you within 10 working days subject to all our  terms and conditions are met.

What about fuel?

All vans are hired out with a full tank of diesel and need to be returned with a full tank of diesel.

Is there a mileage limit with our van hire?

Nope! You can drive them as far as you want!

What do we need to bring?

Sleeping bags/duvet, a sheet for the bed, pillows, clothes, food, and drink. When coming to collect the van, you will also need to bring the following:

  • Copy of your photo card driver’s license (Address & ID must be up to date)
  • Two forms of proof of address:
    • One of which needs to be a utility bill (gas, water, electric, or phone)
    • Both must be dated within 90 days of the hire date
    • The address & name on your license must match both documents

What happens at the pick-up?

The van must be picked up between 11:00 – 13:00 or 15:00 on your arranged pickup date. You will be given a safety briefing and shown how to use the van. Safety instructions and useful information are provided in the Welcome pack. The pick-up point is at a residential address in Cardiff, South Wales, UK.

When we collect the campervan, can we leave our vehicle with Relaxing Campervan Adventures?

Yes, you can leave your vehicle.

What time must we return the campervan?

Campervans must be returned by the time on your return date or at an agreed time on booking.

Can we drive in Europe?

Yes, to European countries

Is there a limit to how long I can book a van?

No, you can book our vans for as long as you need, as long as the vans have not been booked in for services, habitation checks, and MOTs. These dates will not be bookable on the calendars, and all our vans are serviced twice a year, given a habitation test once a year, and checked over by our staff whenever they are returned.

Is there a roof rack and tow bar on each van?

Sorry no.

What happens if we break down?

Our van is maintained to the highest of standards. However, in the unlikely event of a breakdown, the van comes with comprehensive breakdown cover. If you are unable to complete your getaway because of the breakdown, we would refund all of the days that you lost and offer you a night in any future booking that you make with us.

Our van comes with comprehensive breakdown cover in UK and Europe, and the van will be towed to the nearest garage for it to be repaired. We would then reimburse you for any time lost from your getaway while the van is at the garage for repair.

What happens if the van is bumped or damaged?

If the bump is considered your fault, we will keep the refundable deposit of £750 to pay for the excess on the insurance. Otherwise, the security deposit will be fully refunded.

Who can drive the van?

There is maximum limit of 4 drivers on a van on any getaway. You will be asked for certain details upon booking your getaway trip to make sure that you comply with our insurers’ requirements.

What if I break something in the van?

Don’t worry, you wouldn’t be the first! Depending on what it is, we can replace or repair it with some of your deposit. Everything’s pretty robust though, so I wouldn’t worry too much!

What happens if the booking is cancelled by Relaxing Campervan Adventures?

We will refund you.

What happens if the booking is cancelled by me?

If the booking is cancelled with more than 8 weeks remaining until your getaway date, you will be issued a full refund or given the chance to rebook at a later date. If the cancellation is within 8 weeks of the start date, we will do our best to fill your booking with another customer’s, in which case we will refund you or replace your booking at a later date. What are the hire periods?

 

Short Break 3 Nights

Friday to Monday. Pick up 3pm Friday and return 1pm Monday.

Full Week 7 Nights

Saturday to Saturday. Pick up 3pm Saturday and return 11am Saturday.
